We know most of our guests come to explore the gorgeous scenery and outdoor activities, so when there is a little stormy weather in the forecast folks can get a little nervous the raindrops are going to spoil their fun. However, when it rains here, it’s no problem! There are plenty of fun things to do indoors with the whole family!
Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory
The one and only Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory! This is where it all happens. Take a 30-minute guided tour and learn how Ben & Jerry make their ice cream so delicious. Tours take place every half hour, and same day reservations are not necessary for groups smaller than ten. Free samples are available whether or not they are producing ice cream. Fun for the whole family!

Stowe Bowl
This is not your typical bowling experience! The Stowe Bowl is a boutique bowling alley. They have eight lanes, great food, and a full bar. Definitely call ahead of time, because the lanes fill up quickly. Grab your bathrobe and order a white russian!
Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum
Come experience Vermont skiing and snowboarding history! The Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum, which is located in Stowe Village, is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm. Even if you do not ski or snowboard, it is definitely worth the trip! They have a very interesting collection of artifacts dating back many years. Check out their gift shop for some cool memorabilia.
The Swimming Hole
Your town may have a YMCA, similarly ours has the Swimming Hole. The kids will absolutely love The Swimming Hole’s indoor water slide, which connects to a swimming pool for children and toddlers, is open from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm daily. There is also an eight-lane competition-sized swimming pool, a spinning studio, and a group exercise room. Insider tip – they sell coupon books that never expire. What a great stocking stuffer!

Stowe Cinema
Enjoy an affordable night out! Stowe Cinema shows first run movies and features a full concession and full cocktail bar. It’s a great place to enjoy a Heady Topper while watching the a film, in 3D or conventional form. In addition to cocktails, they happen to serve the best popcorn in town! Come for the 4 o’clock matinee on a rainy day. Insider tip – this movie theater takes cash only, so you’ll want to plan ahead or use the ATM inside.
