Stowe Road and Trail Races

There are Stowe road and trail races that have been institutions in local athletes’ calendars for years and several that have been added recently. Whether you are a serious athlete or just using an event as an excuse to indulge in some local craft beer and one of our area’s many wonderful eateries, Stowe has an event for you. From May to November there are occasions to run, trot, jog or walk through beautiful scenery, on flats, up hills, even through the center of town.

Craft Beer 5k – This mid to late May event includes a 3.1 mile run along the Stowe Country Club and on the Stowe Recreation Path, culminating in a craft beer festival with local craft beer, cider and kombucha.

Heady Trotter – October 21st, 2018 – A brand new addition to the Stowe race schedule, The Heady Trotter features a post race party at the Alchemist Brewery with lawn games, food trucks, live music and beer specials at the finish.

Stowe 8 Miler & 5k – July 8th, 2018 – For nearly 40 years, the Stowe 8-Miler has offered a tour of Stowe’s rolling hills and scenic vistas, including a stretch through the quaint village of Stowe itself. Prefer to take it easier? The 5k course is for you, with only 70 feet in elevation changes over its 3.1 miles.

Stowe 10 Miler – November 4th, 2018 – a fairly new addition to the Stowe racing calendar, the Stowe 10 Miler course is one of the most beautiful and challenging runs in the area. Wrap up the race with a tasty local craft beer.

Race to the Top of Vermont – August 26th, 2018 – known as “the hardest race Everyone Can Do!” The Race to the Top of Vermont is organized by the Catamount Trail Association. Participants hike, bike or run up Mt. Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak. The course is 4.3 miles long with an elevation gain of 2,564 feet.
