Waterbury Center

Waterbury Center is located to the eastern side of Rt. 100 heading north from the village. It covers a large area located off the right side of the road as you pass Ben and Jerry’s heading to Stowe. The “Center” features residential neighborhoods of single family homes interspersed with small farms, situated in the shadow of the Worcester mountain range. There is the old Waterbury Center village area which has a small green and is actually serviced by its own post office. A quaint and quiet setting with homes on smaller lots with bigs views of Hunger Mt. and the entire Worcester range.
As you branch out and climb from the Center village you come to the Perry Hill and Loomis Hill areas. These are at a higher elevation and offer larger lots with valley views that open up to the west spanning Green mountain range from Mt. Mansfield to Camel’s Hump and down to Sugarbush ski areas. Some locations possess almost 360 degree views.

The Center is also home to agriculturally based businesses including Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Cabot Creamery annex, and small farm markets which are frequented by locals and tourists alike. As well as a couple of fine restaurants: Michaels on the Hill features creative cuisine using locally sourced ingredients in a classic farmhouse setting.

For a lighter, but equally creative dining experience Zen Barn fits the bill, with a casual open bar area the recently redesigned and renovated red barn offers live music and a warm, inviting atmosphere along with an eclectic menu.

Winter sports and recreation abound, from skiing to snow shoeing, ice climbing to ice fishing…there are plenty of options for outdoor recreation right out your back door in Waterbury Center.
The Center is also home to the popular Little River Reservoir, with direct access to the beach area, a boat launch and all kinds of water sports. Featuring a small sand beach and large grassy area with BBQ grills, surrounded by rolling green mountains, an idyllic place to enjoy summer in Vermont.
Hope Davy Field in the heart of this area is large recreation complex with baseball, soccer fields, basketball courts, a large playground as well as a fully equipped Frisbee Golf Course.
