Waterbury

There was time when Waterbury was known as a sleepy town off exit 10 of Interstate-89, which folks drove through as they were heading to Stowe or Sugarbush destinations. Not any more! As businesses such as Ben and Jerry’s and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters located their operations in town, people began to take a closer look at this “Crossroads of Vermont” as a destination of its own, to live, work and play.

Given its natural beauty and location, Waterbury has become one of the most desirable places to live in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains. The location of the town combined with a variety of choice neighborhood settings, keeps this real estate market in high demand.

Waterbury’s proximity to recreational resort destinations in Stowe and the Mad River Valley, a short 30 minute drive to Burlington with its airport and cultural offerings and 12 miles to the state capital Montpelier, gives residents and visitors easy access to all the best Vermont has to offer. Not to mention the phenomenal rebirth and popularity of downtown Waterbury Village with a culinary and craft beer scene that has gained national acclaim over the past few years.

On the outskirts the charming Village of Waterbury, heading north on Rt. 100 the scenic valley road to Stowe opens up to 2 distinct areas which provide beautiful settings on either side of the valley. The community of Blush Hill to the west, with its striking views of the Worcester Mountain range and Waterbury Center to the east, set in the shadow of the Worcesters, looking down the Green Mountain range, highlighted by views of iconic Camel’s Hump. Both Blush Hill and Waterbury Center offer easy access to the Waterbury Reservoir, a recreation gem with swimming, boating, and fishing available on 850 acres of water nestled in the Little River State Park.

The Town of Waterbury, once considered a footnote on the road to somewhere, today stands as a headliner for people who are seeking a unique Vermont experience. A nice place to live, work and play in the heart of all the best that Vermont has to offer.
